Our Fairytale

Once upon a time there was an artist named Rachel, she painted fairies, dragons, woodland creatures and the hidden magic of the land. For over 14 years she'd brought enchanted worlds to life with her murals and illustrations, quietly building a realm of wonder with each brushstroke.

One day, she was painting away in her studio at a retreat centre in the wild-woods of Shropshire. Rustle. Crash! Bang, she heard a noise in the workshop next door. Putting down her paint brush she got up from her easel to find out what was going on.

Little did she know, that walking into that room would open a whole new chapter...

Enter Chris, just in the process of leaving his position on the Board of a large and successful ethical wholesale distributor, in search of new adventures.

Chris was seeking a power supply for his electric car, but instead found himself entering a strange and new world, filled with unusual and beautiful creatures!

There for a weekend of dance, little did he know at that point his exuberant dancing style would take a new turn - to help in the setting up of a whole new business venture.

And what an amazing journey that has been so far...

So, what began with paint and curiosity, dance and synchronicity, soon grew into something more. A shared vision to bring wild magic of nature into the everyday.

Ethereal Earth is a brand-new eco-magical greetings and giftware company dreamed up by illustrator Rachel Blackwell and small business entrepreneur Chris. Blending the mystical with the natural, our products celebrate the magic of everyday life on this wild, beautiful planet we can home. Inviting you to pause, breathe, and rediscover the enchantment all around.

Rachel has spent decades as a freelance illustrator, with a career as vibrant and varied as her artwork. From designing collectible coins for The Westminster Collection, to painting Grayson Perry as a deer for Channel 4, and illustrating a Fairy Tarot Deck for US Games Inc., her work bridges imagination and reality with playful depth.

Chris brings his own magic to the mix—having launched and led several social enterprises, and formerly serving as a director for one of the UK’s leading ethical wholesale distributors. He understands the need for eco-sustainable and ethical workplaces in today's changing world.

Together, we’ve created Ethereal Earth, a sustainable, playful brand rooted in nature, wonder and creativity.

Our greetings cards and giftware are both Ethereal—light, whimsical, and otherworldly—and Earthly—rooted in our natural world.

At the heart of everything we make is the truth that we live on a mysterious planet flying through space… and that everyday life, when seen through the right lens, is full of magic.
